Wedding Dinner and Photo Hunters: Original



I went for a ex-colleague's wedding dinner yesterday at Kam Lun Tai restaurant. I had forgotten that the ex-colleague seated next to me was a vegetarian. So, all through the dinner, she was served with these quaint vegetarian versions of the typical Chinese nine-course dinner dishes, giving us a preview of what to expect next.

It never fails to amaze me how these vegetarian chefs can come up with such original looking versions of their meat counterparts. Anyway, below are a few of the vegetarian dishes that I paparazzied that night. For your info, from top left, they are in clockwise order: sharkfin soup, roast suckling pig, steamed fish, fried rice, mushroom and broccoli, prawn and in the center, the closing desert, a cookie in the shape of a chicken. We had a really monstrous-looking roast suckling pig(the real thing) as shown from the picture below:

I am normally a meat-eater but in this case, looking at the roasted piggy, I decide to go for the vege... :D

Makes me hungry, looking at all that food. I'm not vegetarian but certainly those dishes look good - and original! Mind you, looking at that suckling pig could put me off meat ... for a while :)
