Year End Rantings

Once again, the year is drawing to a close. Call me silly but it seems that when the year draws to a close, I feel more somber and serious than usual. Reflections and self appraisals, Christmas and New Year planning, and holiday planning stress somehow take their toll. My humour tank and *evil laughs* have gone dry. If we had winter, I could join the ranks of the X-Men as 'Iceman'.

Year-ends are infinitely more fun when you're a kid because of the long holidays. Fun for the kids, but definitely not for the parents who have to come up with a plethora of activities to keep the children away from mischief. Fortunately, I don't have to contend with kids for the time being. Ah, score one for singledom!

Next week, I get to go to camp. Yay! Well, not as a participant but just a volunteer. The last time I went to this camp, they made me a participant although I was supposed to be a volunteer. Shucks, a 30 year old in a camp mostly made out of teenagers. Thank God I wasn't the only one. But never again. I think there is a time and age for everything. It's so disconcerting for the poor young leader to have an adult in his teeny-bopsy group. Somehow the aura of leadership is sapped from the poor young leader who feels an unconscious need to assert himself in the presence of an adult.

Darn, where is my funny bone. Or have I caught a severe case of blogitis from Monty. Eck! crappiness... crappiness...
