Reflections and Resolutions

Well, it's finally that time of the year again where we bid adieu to the year 2006 and welcome to the year 2007. One more candle to the birthday cake.

Some people say how fast time has flown by but I beg to differ. Time moves at the same speed but we human beings have such a short memory. We forget the suffering, the toil and the waiting and we rush through the happy and exciting times. Of course, time will fly in our lame perceptions.

The year 2006 had a lot of memorable milestones for me:
  • Quitting my job in KL and coming back to Seremban
  • Taking up language classes like Vietnamese and Chinese
  • Making many new good friends in church, work and outside
  • Revamping my interest in blogging
  • Making many cool and good friends via blogging
  • Learning a lot of new stuff through blogging
  • Broadened my knowledge and my tummy with Seremban food
  • Stuffed myself most with crabs after 3 decades of almost crablessness
  • Joining the gym
  • Letting go of a lot of nasty stuff in my system
  • Took my silly dog for surgery ... hmm, looks like I'm getting soft in my head after all
  • etc...
Now, what resolutions shall I make for the year 2006. Frankly, I don't care if I stick to them or not but it's better to plan than not to plan. Not planning is planning to fail. Personally, life has no meaning except the meaning we assign to it. So here's seven resolutions for 2007, well practical ones:
  1. Brush up on my work skills
  2. Brush up my Chinese language reading and writing
  3. Broaden my guitar playing in jazz and bass, and pass on some skills
  4. Lose lots of weight, hmm, 10 kg, ha ha
  5. Read more, especially that stack of books I accumulated
  6. Travel; maybe meet up with other bloggers down south
  7. Look out for new areas of work to move into
Hmm, I guess that should be enough to keep me busy for a while. Heh! Here's hoping to stick to them. Cheers, everyone and Happy New Year!

such aspiring resolutions. good luck *grins* but looks like you'll have to amend it to keeping off the next 10kgs, what with all the food in seremban.

Oh Pah, Resolutions. I guess I must blog one of those. "Out with the old, in with the new?"

Will that suffice? Would be the shortest blog ever.

Changing jobs is a major stresser in life. I'm glad it went well for you.

Cheers to 2007! May other bloggers beware! bah hahaha
