Is this detachment?

Updates: What are the nested doll thingies?
A Matryoshka doll (Cyrillic матрёшка or матрешка) is a Russian nesting doll. A set of Matryoshka dolls consists of a wooden figure which can be pulled apart to reveal another figure of the same sort inside. It has in turn another figure inside, and so on. The number of nested figures is usually six or more. ...
(from Wikipedia)

For the past few days, I've been feeling kind of goalless and soulless. Seems like a major kind of detachment. Haven't been bogged down by my moods; no angsty or depressive thoughts. I feel a deep kind of boredom and dissatisfaction but there's nothing I really want to do. Shucks.

Anyway, I'm reminded of an illustration the church speaker used last Sunday, You know, those multiple dolls within a doll thingy. Sure would be cool if someone can tell me the name for these things. You know, there's a smaller doll within a doll within another doll, etc. Well, if you don't know, here's the picture.

Look Mummy, there are many mini-me's!

Anyway, the point the speaker was trying to make is that there are many layers within us. On the outside, there may be this big, strong and secure adult, appearance-wise. But as we peel away the layers, there's still these layers or selves within us. And deep inside, there's this vulnerable child that still yearns for affection and unfulfilled needs. Interesting analogy!

Deviating now, yesterday, I chanced upon this flaming sunset as I drove home from work and managed to get quite a magnificent shot(in my opinion) of the scene with my phone camera(for once). So I would like to share it with you:

A majestic flaming sunset

Beautiful, isn't it! If one could capture the color of sunsets within a jewel, I think it would be a real hit. Makes me feel all poetic but the old poem engine isn't working right now.

Sigh... for some angst... (Nah, enjoy some peace and detachment for now... lol!)

Skittles? Russian dolls? Mini me's? Onions? doll within a doll? Wow.. I don't know what they're called..

As a amateur photographer, your picture is outstanding Jonzz.. It's a contrast when you see the telephone wires and poles - you can almost feel as though technology improves; but you can never improve what nature has perfected billions of years ago - the sunset. Some people might see the wires in the way and not see the beauty. Kind of like life. We get so involved in our tV, PCs, palm pilots, cell phones, we forget to look up and see the beauty of nature.

oh, chocolate is VERY good advice on increasing those natural endorphins.

Based on the analogy... So are children childish at the outside, mature at the inside? =P
