Three Deaths.
It's a Sunday night and I am in the office due to a dead Streamyx connection at home. What to do, desperate times, desperate measures. (So kwa-cheong) Apparently, the problem has now been escalated to the folks at Telekom. They've tapped into my phone line and discovered it's crackly and possibly due to a line or card problem.
Eulogies.
I think eulogies are lame if you treat them as mere dedications, since the person you dedicate it to, can't hear it anyway. Not anymore. They serve more as a memory for the living, a way of dealing with the pain and the feelings associated with the departed.
Today, in church, I learned that an auntie has passed away to be with the Lord, four days ago. She was in New Zealand where she migrated. This poem is in memory of her:
Sigh.
The last one concerns friendship but I shall not elaborate it as it is kind of personal.

Her namesake is a flower
The lovely tender rose
Which spreads its sweet fragrance
Wherever that it goes
She was generous to a fault
To family, friend or stranger alike
Cheerful and easy-going
A warm and gentle light
This flower now blooms in Heaven
Before the throne of God
Although no longer with us
It shall not be forgot
The lovely tender rose
Which spreads its sweet fragrance
Wherever that it goes
She was generous to a fault
To family, friend or stranger alike

Comments
It is very nice for you to write for this Auntie. Keep writing, you poems will only get better.
With every life that passed on, there will be a new one born.
take care..
I agree with Chinkinin. I think it is a written summary of a person's life and how much that person was valuable in that person's life.
We all hope to be remembered in a good way... It's a nice poem Jonzz

winniethepooh: True. Thanks.
chinkinin: Food for thought eh.
annie: Thanks. (Hey, two duplicate comments??!! LOL, don't be so Submit-Button happy)
eve: I think that's pretty normal because death is not something we look forward to and expect.
firehorse: Thanks.
