A Wedding, The Invasion and Church

A colleague got married yesterday. It was a simple wedding, lasting little over half an hour followed by a photography session. I did not to attend the wedding lunch as I had prior engagements.

Somehow I do not enjoy wedding lunch and dinners. Call me whatever you want, but I find this part of a wedding an impersonal affair and a long drawn waste of time for small talk. Of course, if you are within the company of many friends, it is much different. Heh...

Anyway, later in the evening, two friends; J & J and me decided to watch 'The Invasion' .

Nicole Kidman does look rather haggard in this show. Well, probably due to lack of sleep, ha ha.

What do I think of the show? Well, it was rather suspenseful and intriguing in the beginning, but somehow it lost steam towards the end of the show. Well, I don't like giving spoilers, so you may want to check it out for yourselves.

They seem to be pairing Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig in more and more shows, what with the upcoming film 'The Golden Compass'.

I found the trailer and concept for this film rather intriguing so I bought the book, Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials which is the trilogy where The Golden Compass as it's first book. I also bought 'One More Day' by Mitch Albom since it is out on paperback and being offered at 15% discount as popular. I do hope I finish reading these two books. My accumulated pile of unread books is growing.

Today, I finally went back to church after more than a month.

Seems like a lot of my internal turmoil is settling down, God's willing. It seems my so-called detachment may be a misinterpreted form of something good after all.

[stay-at-home-mum]: At present, the thought of me getting married anytime soon will be a miracle.

[PB]: Tsk tsk... I said I didn't enjoy wedding lunches or dinners since they usually are quite impersonal. I said nothing about the wedding itself.

[Eve]: When also can...

[bibiknyonya]: What are you waiting for? Go!

[jomel]: Hi five! Finally someone who agrees! Well, I think Invasion was promising just that it had a lousy finishing.

[sbanboy]: Hmm, if it's your sister, you should try your best to go.

[doc]: Thanks for the birthday wish. Yup, lots going on. Can say more than I can handle at the moment.
