Trust

I have been trying to feed my dog antibiotics for two days. You know the technique, open the dog's mouth, put it at the back of the throat and hopefully that fella swallows it. Simple right... Nope! It's not. This owner is a wimp. I couldn't stand the pitiful fella's face and gave up after several attempts. In the end I pounded the antibiotics into powder and mixed it with half boiled egg.

In that process, it struck me how much I take trust for granted. I put my hand into a canine's fanged mouth many times to put a pill in. I could have been bitten the same number of times. I mean, I am force feeding a dog a pill. Trust. I guess my dog trusts me.

So many things in this world operates on trust. Of course, we know it's not infallible. But how sad it is when someone who is close to us fails our trust and expectations.

As the years go by, I find myself more and more detached and cynical. When I first get to know someone, I always give them the benefit of the trust doubt, disregarding their background. But I find myself these days generally pessimistic, expecting betrayal and failure at every bend. I guess it lessens the impact when it happens.

However I wonder, is this coldness and detachment a good way to live by...

Jonzz, hopefully your scooby is fully recover now.thank God that scooby trusts u a lot n i m sure God will bless him too.
talking abt trust, yes sometimes there are betrayal which we are not prepared /expected it to happen n it really hurts.but from experience that we gained,we know that we cant stop this and we cant compare it with the trust that we have in others.it will not be balance anyway.
we cant ask anyone to trust us,we cant fully trust a person but what we can do is to become a person who can be trusted.if everyone were to take the initiative to start from "ME",then majority will be trustworthy person.
i know sometimes it is quite discourage with the coldness of the world but i always remind myself that this world is not that "cold" bcos there is "ME" that can make it warm.
we cant do it if we r too focus in the benefits of ourselves.WE CAN DO IT with GOd's assitance,WE CAN DO IT bcos God 1st loves us n He trusts us.

Jonzz: It might help if you ask yourself if u can GUARANTEE 100% someone who trust u that u will NOT disappoint them in any way for the rest of your life. I think no.

Human makes mistakes. That's the way of life. Try not to be too hard on yourself nor others. You'll be happier. (n not as if you aren't now)

For 100% trust, we know where to look for :)

lm: some people can be detached and cold and still seem normal on the exterior. You can't judge a book by its cover.

Jonzz: I agree with u. But if i am not wrong, most people are like that. wat's wrong with dat? isn't dat a way of life? it's stupid to trust blindly anyway. everything in moderation is fine.
